Kate Krolle

Kate Krolle works with graphics, installations and video. She is interested in nature and its connection with human life, experience and instinct. This is an ambitious, complex field of study, in which the artist acts with poetic, visual and emotional breadth. 

In the video work “We hold our hearts” Krolle explores the phenomenon of faith as a primeval force, both from the cultural and historical aspect and as an integral part of human nature. Poetically reflecting on a journey to the mountains of Central Asia, Krolle transforms her personal story into a message about individual and collective faith in various places and circumstances. The irregular form, polished, sloping floor serves as a stage design element for mountainous relief as well as a metaphor of the search for spirituality and faith.
